PREGNANT Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were greeted in New Zealand with a traditional Maori welcome after landing in the country for the final leg of their Pacific tour.
The royal couple, who have already visited Australia, Fiji and Tonga, were received in the nation's capital Wellington by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern.
Prince Harry and wife Meghan each performed a "hongi" with indigenous Maori elders, in which they pressed noses together to share a breath.
They were welcomed with traditional haka performances and a 21-gun salute at Government House in the capital, Wellington.
On Friday Meghan led tributes to the "amazing" Invictus Games organisers and athletes during the event's closing ceremony in Sydney.
The royal couple flew from Australia on Sunday after closing the games in Sydney and were accompanied by several athletes from New Zealand.
Meghan had praised the "unshakeable bond" between servicemen and women and the "camaraderie and close-knit sense of community" she witnessed.
Those among the crowd included David Beckham and his son Romeo, who have been photographed at several games events over the past few days.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex had visited Maranui Cafe in Wellington on Monday to meet with mental health workers and discuss their work.
Ten pupils from nearby Houghton Valley School got the chance to meet the couple as they left the cafe, with one of the children handing Meghan flowers.
Joe was on the end of the line of pupils and rubbed his eyes as the royal visitors approached.
The duchess kneeled and touched his hand and the duke then went in to tickle Joe's stomach.
The couple made their way down the line, with eight-year-old Max Dash giving the flowers to the duchess.
Mum-to-be Meghan, wearing Outland jeans, a Jac+Jack top and a Club Monaco coat, went back into the cafe and asked staff to bring out trays of cakes for the youngsters as she "really wanted all the food to be brought outside for the children".
The duchess said today young people and their sense of self-worth can become "really skewed" by social media.
Meghan was speaking to youngsters about how unrealistic images on sites such as Instagram can have an impact on mental health.
She said: "Young people find it so difficult.
"You see photos on social media and you don't know whether she's born with it or maybe it's a filter.
"Your judgment of your sense of self-worth becomes really skewed when it's all based on likes."

Its just the culture. It symbolises that you share the same breath, same spirit. Basically, you're here now on our land, and you're now equal footing - nothing more, nothing less.

I just think Meghan is so awesome, and she is doing such a good job and trying so hard to do everything the right way. As an American, it's not something we know about, so it is even harder for her, plus being watched and critiqued 24/7.

Wow that nose touching is a nice tradition - but it sure spreads viruses and colds easily. A pregnant woman shouldn't do that but it's a natural vaccine.

Yes because all humans carry deadly viruses which will definitely kill her if she touches someone face.... what a calamity 😯

Her title is now pregnant? Not Duchess? How rude. Your posts are worth ignoring or blocking.

She was given her title, in fact she should be given something lesser like Baroness. She wasn't born into it. She's not blood. She's a Yank.

You will be blocking the whole Internet if you must avoid that. Do you refer to Prince William's wife as "Kate Middleton" or the Duchess of Cambridge? And the Duchess of Cornwall, has anyone stopped calling her Camilla Parker -Bowles? It's just habit and no one is hurt. She is pregnant, after all, it's not like she's being called "that bitch who killed the angel Diana" . See, it's all kind of relative. Speaking of Diana, she was never actually "Princess Diana", that title is for one born royal. Her original title was HRH, Diana, Princess of Wales. That title belongs to Camilla now.

In Māori culture the pressing of noses is called a hongi. It is a greeting to signify the ‘breath of life.’ It’s important in Māori culture as it connects you with the people you are visiting. Michael Jackson was welcomed in that way because it is normal in Māori cultural.

1) why does the adjective "pregnant" have to be used before Meghan Markle? How long will that continue? 2) Prince Harry received the exact same welcome. It wasn't just Meghan.

This isn't click bait. I almost spelled that wrong too and I am an Editor! Click bait really should be called "bait AND switch" . I didn't come here because suddenly the Duchess of Sussex's new first name seems to be "Pregnant", I came because I adore Harry and Meghan, and the lady has rocked it on this trip! She's a star, I hate it when people try to top the insults her joke of a sister hurls at her, she doesn't deserve it. She does deserve a good, loving marriage and it's fun to cheer these two on. It looks soooo cold there, I wonder how many seasons they experienced on this trip?

+Khadija Newell if you can't spell "bait," don't post about it.

It's click bate...put the work "pregnant" in front of Meghan and you'll check it out. It worked right?
